Brush FCPX

How to Use

1. Place FCPX Brush on top of the footage.
2. Select a Draw Mode pop-up menu
3. Adjust brush style controls as desired.
4. Move the playhead to the frame you want to begin drawing on.
5. Draw on the current frame.
6. Move playhead to new frame.
7. Repeat 5-6 until animation is complete.

Plugin Controls

• Draw Mode

• ⁃  Frame by Frame
  • In this mode, drawing only affects the current frame. This allows for frame-by-frame animation.
  • If you stretch the FCPX Brush Generator, Final Cut will add empty frames.
  • If you shrink the FCPX Brush Generator, Final Cut will delete frames.
• ⁃  Add to Subsequent Frames
  • In this mode, drawing will affect all frames to the right of the current frame, or until an edited frame.
  • If you stretch the FCPX Brush Generator to the right, Final Cut will extend the last drawing onto the new frames.
  • if you stretch the FCPX Brush Generator to the left, Final Cut will add empty frames.
  • If you shrink the FCPX Brush Generator, Final Cut will delete frames.
  • Canvas Controls
  ⁃ Clear Current Frame• Clears the current frame of all drawings. ⁃ Clear Canvas• Clears the entire generator of all drawings.⁃ Save Canvas
  • Saves all drawings
  • Make sure to Save Canvas before any of the following situations
  • Hot Keys
  • ⁃  Closing Final Cut Pro X
  • ⁃  Compounding the generator
  • ⁃  Duplicating the generator
  • ⁃  Adjust Brush Size
    • Increase Brush Size (+)
    • Decrease Brush Size (-)
  • ⁃  Erasing
  • Hold Command and draw to erase.
